Proudly we can announce you that the Dutch Judo federation have won the National Youth Award of 2010 with the project Special Needs Judo teacher.
The National Youth Award is an annual price awarded by the Dutch Youth Institute which is the expertise centre for youth and parenting issues controlled by the government. The Dutch Judo Federation was nominated out of 79 accepted projects in the Netherlands.
It year the overall theme of professional working was the centre of the judgment.
Beside the common social relevance, quality, effectiveness, usability and innovation the panel of judge’s criteria were the professional structure of the project.
The Dutch Judo Federation didn’t sent in the whole Special Needs project but only the social inclusion part which is linked to social disadvantage youth.
The jury was particular charmed the way the Dutch Judo Federation educated the Dutch judo teachers by setting up a Special Needs course to help them to handle their peer group. But also the programs on schools that made the first step to the judo clubs was mentioned.
By winning this award the Special Needs Judo Project of the Dutch Judo Federation is of course very proud and happy to collect € 20.000 price money for the continuing of this project.
